Zack Timothy Harvey-Roche, 18, pleads guilty after threatening to send videos of sex with young woman to ‘everyone’

A northern NSW teen has landed in court after he threatened to send videos of himself and a young woman having sex to “everyone” after she cut ties.

Zack Timothy Harvey-Roche pleaded guilty to threatening to distribute intimate images without consent when he faced Ballina Local Court.

A Northern Rivers teenager has faced court after he threatened to send videos of himself and a young woman having sex to “everyone” after she cut ties.

Zack Timothy Harvey-Roche faced Ballina Local Court on August 8 with a noticeable ‘Z’ tattooed on his neck.

The 18-year-old pleaded guilty to threatening to distribute intimate images without consent.

Harvey-Roche sent videos and text messages to the victim’s phone in May, according to court documents.

The victim pleaded with Harvey-Roche not to release the videos.

“Harvey-Roche sent several video recordings to the victim’s phone, which showed the accused and victim having sexual intercourse,” police state.

He then sent follow-up text messages telling the victim he wanted to send the videos to “everyone”.

Police state the pair consented to “recording themselves performing sexual activities” at the time, but the young woman did not expect videos to be shared.

She pleaded with Harvey-Roche not to send the videos to anyone and he replied: “You don’t want me, so I may as well”.

Fearing Harvey-Roche would share the videos, the victim responded: “Yes, I do want you.”

The victim then made a police statement and Harvey-Roche was charged.

The case has been moved to October 4.
