A 30-year-old woman has died after being struck by a ute in the state’s north.
At about 10am on Sunday, police and paramedics were called to Forest Rd at Woodburn south of Lismore after it was reported a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
Police were told at the scene a green Toyota ute had allegedly struck a 30-year-old woman.
She could not be revived and died at the scene.
The male driver of the ute, 18, was subjected to mandatory roadside breath testing, which returned a negative result.
He is assisting police with their inquiries.
A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash has commenced.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
Police have urged anyone with information or dashcam footage of the crash to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
