A teenage boy has been flown to a Gold Coast hospital after a shocking crash involving a B-double truck and a hatchback in northern NSW, yet later died. Here’s what we know.

A teenage boy suffered serious injuries when his Holden Barina hatchback collided with a B-double truck in the state’s north.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of the New England Highway and Old Ballandean Rd, Tenterfield about 1.40pm on Wednesday, NSW Police revealed on Thursday.
Bystanders told police the truck and hatchback crashed at the intersection before the car rolled.
The driver of the Barina, a 17-year-old boy, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for multiple injuries, including to his head.
He was taken to Tenterfield Hospital, stabilised by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter’s critical care medical team and flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.
Unfortunately the boy died in hospital a police said in a statement.
The 63-year-old truck driver was not injured and underwent mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
New England Police District officers have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
