Police were called to a street in a remote town in the state’s west to find a man with fatal stab wound to his neck.
Just after 11.50pm on Thursday, emergency services were called to a home on Duff S, Broken Hill, following reports of a concern for welfare.
When they arrived, officers found a man with stab wounds to his neck.
The man is believed to be aged in his 40s but is yet to be formally identified.
He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but could not be revived.
A crime scene has been established and officers attached to Barrier Police District, with the assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, commenced an investigation into the incident.
