A damning recording made at the height of the gangland war has revealed the sentiment of those linked to the Comanchero who planned the brazen 2022 hit on a rival gangster.

A bikie associate involved in a brazen gangland hit “couldn’t give a f..k” about the death of a rival gangster that shocked the underworld and sparked a bloody war, a court has been told.

Comanchero-linked Vincent Lambroglou left police a trail of evidence, and damning recordings, leading back to him that would eventually unravel the daring 2022 assassination of Rami Iskander.

Ahmad crime family member Iskander died after two gunmen shot him 14 times as he walked through his front door at Belmore in May of that year at the height of the clan’s feud with the bikie gang.

Lambroglou pleaded guilty to accessory after the fact to murder and on Tuesday the Supreme Court sentenced him to four years and six months jail time.

According to court documents, police had linked him to the hit after his Uber records matched the movements of a masked man seen parking one of the cars days before the shooting.

As police zeroed in on him, the Supreme Court was told on Tuesday, Lambroglou was heard on a covert recording in conversation with his brother after the latter had been interviewed by police.

“Why they (police) are putting so much money into this is what’s killing me,” Lambroglou said on the recording taken inside his brother’s Oatley home.

“I don’t know who the bloke (Iskander) was, I got no idea, I know sort of, but yeah couldn’t give a f..k.”

Those recordings, his links to rival bikie bosses Tarek Zahed and George Lergou and the Under Armour jumper he wore while staging getaway cars, later found in the washing during a search of his home, saw him charged.

The court heard the same search uncovered a copy of the Telegraph with the headline “bikie boss shot” about the shooting that seriously injured Zahed and killed his brother Omar Zahed.

The court heard the paper was published the same day Lambroglou was moving cars in preparation for the shooting and found in his home during the search seven months after Iskander was gunned down.

Denying he initially knew he was helping out in a murder, Lambroglou admitted he helped clone number plates and stage several of the getaway cars used in the shooting.

Though in pleading guilty Lambroglou also admitted by the time he gave the killers access to an underground car park to hide a car after the shooting he was aware of the plot to kill Iskander.

When he was taken into custody after being charged, Lambroglou told a psychologist as part of his sentencing, he got access to the Daily Telegraph and found out Iskander was the victim.

Iskander, 23, was killed in a spate of tit-for-tat killings involving the Ahmad crime family and the Comanchero in early 2021 and 2022.

In court his family openly sobbed and held back tears as the grim details of his death were aired in court.

The young plumber is alleged to have been targeted over apparent plans to avenge the shooting death of his uncle Mahmoud “Brownie” Ahmad just weeks before his own death.

Lambroglou was also jailed for two years over a proceeds of crime charge relating to $500,000 he claimed arose after he agreed to pay off a drug debt which saw him snorting 3.5g of cocaine a day.

Justice David Davies said Lambroglou had since shown remorse for his role in Iskander’s death in a letter he wrote to the court.

With a total non-parole period of three years and seven months he will be eligible for release in October 2025.
