Tweed pair charged with Kingscliff break in and assaults

Police have charged two men who allegedly broke into a Kingscliff home and punched two other men in head, causing one to sustain serious facial injuries, before fleeing the scene.

Two men have been charged after allegedly breaking into a Kingscliff home and seriously injuring a man.

Emergency services were called to an Ocean St home about 7.30am on Saturday, February 19.

Police found a 28-year-old man with serious head and facial injuries.

Officers were told two men allegedly forced entry to the home before they assaulted the man in the living room by punching him to the face and head.

Three other occupants of the home – a 59-year-old woman and two men, aged 24 and 21 – attempted to assist, before the men allegedly punched the 21-year-old to the head.

Its alleged the two men then fled the scene.

The 28-year-old man was treated by paramedics for head and facial injuries before being taken to Tweed Hospital.

The 21-year-old man was treated for minor injuries.

Police charged a 31-year-old man later that morning with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence – inflicting actual bodily harm.

The Pottsville man was granted conditional bail at Tweed Heads Local Court on February 20.

After further investigations, a 25-year-old Nunderi man was arrested in Pottsville and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and aggravated break and enter to commit a serious indictable offence – inflicting actual bodily harm.

He was also granted conditional bail in Tweed Heads Local Court on Tuesday.
