From a former Olympic athlete, to an Instagram influencer, to a Casino mother, these dealers were all busted on the Northern Rivers.

One was busted trying to bring drugs in by the ocean, another through several phone taps.

Olympian Nathan Baggaley and his brother Dru have been found guilty of plotting to smuggle up to $200 million of cocaine into Australia at a Brunswick Heads boat ramp.

Nathan Baggaley, a world champion kayaker and Olympic silver medallist, was accused of helping his younger brother import 650 kilograms of cocaine into the country in 2018.

Both men had pleaded not guilty but were found guilty by a Brisbane Supreme Court jury.

A bartender and Instagram influencer caught up in a cross-border drug syndicate was sentenced in Tweed Heads Local Court.

Mikayla Noakes pleaded guilty to four charges: participate criminal group contribute criminal activity, two counts of supply prohibited drug and possess prohibited drug.

Noakes was charged with cocaine possession on November 14 last year, after she was stopped near the Pacific Highway at Chinderah.

A Casuarina man involved in a cross-border cocaine syndicate has avoided actual prison time on the balance after stating his life was now on the “straight and narrow.”

Jed Thomas Conroy, 22, was sentenced in Tweed Heads Local Court after pleading guilty to four counts of supplying dangerous drugs, recklessly dealing with proceeds of crime, and participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.

The third-year apprentice carpenter first came to police attention in May 2020 when police formed a strike team to investigate drug supply, according to court documents.

Gregory James Agnew

A Kyogle man convicted of rape was also found guilty of offering to supply a prohibited drug related to the horrific crime.

Gregory James Agnew, 40, was found guilty and convicted of two charges of sexual intercourse without consent during a Lismore District Court trial in June.

The matters relate to a November 2018 incident, and he was later arrested in May 2020 after a five-month police investigation into several alleged drug and sexual assault incidents within the Richmond Police District.

A Casino woman guilty of drug and weapons offences has had her sentencing date set.

Stacey Lee Hogan, 36, was arrested in August 2019 after police spent seven months investigating the supply of ice and firearms in Casino, Lismore, Tabulam, Drake and Irvington.

Last year, she pleaded guilty to supplying a commercial quantity of methylamphetamine on an ongoing basis and possessing and supplying unregistered pistols.
