A Covid testing clinic in South Grafton has been listed as venue of concern as Northern NSW Health announces there has been one new case of Covid-19 recorded in the region.

The new case has been recorded in the Clarence Valley local government area.

Three new venues of concern have been listed in Northern NSW, all of which are linked to confirmed cases.

A positive Covid-19 case visited Sullivan Nicolaides Pathology in South Grafton on Wednesday, just one day before a drive-through testing clinic was opened to deal with area’s worst outbreak of the pandemic.

There are now 28 venues of concern listed across Grafton and South Grafton, with 25 cases active in the Clarence Valley.

There have been 92 total cases reported in the Northern NSW Local Health District since the Delta outbreak began in Sydney on June 16.

Meanwhile, visiting restrictions at hospitals across Northern NSW are being eased slightly with patients now able to have one visitor once a day for one hour between 1pm and 6pm.

Visitors must be fully vaccinated with two doses of a Covid-19 vaccine.

Visitors will need to carry evidence of their vaccination status on entry to the health facility, and must wear a surgical mask while on site.

Northern NSW Health acting chief executive Lynne Weir said people should keep up to date with contact tracing alerts and be vigilant against any symptoms of Covid-19.

“People must not visit if they have any COVID-19 symptoms, are a close contact of a confirmed case (or are within their isolation period), live in a household with a person who is currently isolating, or if they are waiting for a Covid-19 test result,” Ms Weir said.

Ballina Aldi – 2 North Creek Road, Monday 11 October, 3:45pm to 4pm
