A DOZEN heavily armed police officers stormed into two homes of people with possible bikie ties in Sydney’s southwest early this morning in search of illegal firearms.
Officers from the Region Enforcement Squad carried out two separate raids relating to the Firearm Prohibition Order on two premises, one in Liverpool and another in Lurnea, which were understood to have targets linked to the Rebels Motorcycle Club.
Police say these raids are carried out regularly to prevent public place shootings and rattle the cages of those select members of the public who may be dealing with illegal firearms.

The Firearms Prohibition Order was brought in about five years ago due to the escalation of public place shootings with illegal firearms.
Police were seen searching through houses and cars, with detectives also witnessed walking forensic equipment into the premises.
“I was standing there and they all walked past in a straight line like soldiers and I was like ‘whoa’— they almost gave me a heart attack,” a neighbour told Nine news.
No arrests or charges were made during the early morning raids.
