Some of New Zealand’s worst criminals deported from Australia

Some of New Zealand’s worst criminals have been kicked out of Australia after two flights packed with violent bikies, thugs, sex fiends and drug dealers departed for Auckland.

Criminal deportation

Two planes packed full of violent thugs, sex fiends, drug dealers and robbers have taken some of New Zealand’s worst criminals back to their homeland.

The Saturday Herald Sun can also reveal bikies linked to the Comancheros, Black Power, Mongrel Mob and Nomads were also among the 31 crooks who were flown out of the country last week by the Australian Border Force (ABF).

The 28 men — and three women — had been convicted of a range of serious criminal activities including domestic violence, grooming of minors, sex offences, aggravated assault, aggravated robbery, stalking, kidnapping and drug offences.

It is the latest salvo in the federal government’s war on overseas born criminals who cause mayhem in Australia.

The government’s blitz stalled briefly when COVID-19 restrictions halted international travel.

But over the past few months a series of charter flights have been organised to continue the deportation push.

On October 6 a flight left Sydney before picking up some deportees in Brisbane and flying on to Auckland.

The following day another plane left Sydney before stopping in Melbourne before heading to Auckland.

Seventeen of the deported crooks were from NSW and seven each from Victoria and Queensland.

The criminals were taken by buses to the airports before being led onto the planes in handcuffs.

Acting ABF Commander Field Operations, Sally McAuliffe, said the ABF would continued its work to remove non-citizens who pose a threat to the Australian community.

“Any non-citizens who have been convicted of serious crimes and are found not

to meet character requirements and whose visas are subsequently cancelled, are

not entitled to remain in Australia,” Cdr McAuliffe said.

“Despite the reduction in international travel due COVID-19, the ABF continues to remove unlawful non-citizens from Australia.”

The majority of those removed had their visas cancelled under section 501 of the migration act.

The act allows Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton to cancel a visa if a person is considered to not be of good character.

A person can fail the character test for a number of reasons, including where a non-citizen has a substantial criminal record.

Mr Dutton said: “Although our ability to deport criminal non-citizens has become harder due to COVID-19, they have not stopped.

“We will continue to remove these people who have harmed Australians as soon as possible.”

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 the federal government has deported around 100 people on charter flights.

The vast majority of people have been sent to New Zealand.

In June a charter flight left for the UK, with eight criminals on board.

Among the group was Christopher Clark Jones, who stabbed a teenager more than a 100 times and decapitated him using his head as a bowling ball.

Jones was convicted in 2007 of the murder of a teenager at a Brisbane home in 2005.

The 17-year-old victim was attacked by Jones following a drunken argument.

Hylton King, a known associate of the Mongrel Mob bikie gang, who has a history of violence including a conviction for assaulting a police officer was deported in August.

Also deported at the same time was John Webster, who had been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for the indecent assault of a child under 12 years.

Earlier this year the Sunday Herald Sun revealed a feared bikie who police believe was one of the most influential organised crime figures in Victoria was booted from Australia.

New Zealander Ray Elise, the Victorian President of the Rebels OMCG, had his visa cancelled by Mr Dutton.

The bikie was targeted due to his criminal offending from a young age, a failure to seize rehabilitation opportunities, disregard for Australian laws and having “an extensive network of criminal associates”.
