EXCLUSIVE: Overseas-born crooks have been targeted in a deportation blitz, with 30 sent packing to New Zealand in the last week.

The men had been convicted of a range of serious crimes including sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 14, domestic violence against minors, assault and drug offences, aggravated robbery and stalking and assault.

The Sunday Herald Sun can reveal in the last six months 237 criminals have been booted from Australia.

In June a charter flight left for the UK with eight criminals on board.

Among the group was Christopher Clark Jones, who stabbed a teenager more than a 100 times and decapitated him using his head as a bowling ball.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton said: “There is no room in Australia for these non-citizens who engage in serious criminal activity.

“Many of these individuals have been violent bikie gang members, paedophiles and drug traffickers and we make no apologies for kicking them out of our country.

“My job is to keep Australians safe and I will continue doing everything I can within the law to do exactly that.”

More than 5,770 foreign criminals have now had their visas cancelled since laws were strengthened by the Federal Government in December 2014.

Jones was convicted in 2007 of the murder of a teenager at a Brisbane home in 2005.

The 17-year-old victim was attacked by Jones following a drunken argument.

Hylton King, a known associate of the Mongrel Mob bikie gang, who has a history of violence including a conviction for assaulting a police officer was deported earlier this month.

Also deported at the same time was John Webster, who had been sentenced to four and a half years in prison for the indecent assault of a child under 12 years.

Earlier this year the Sunday Herald Sun revealed a feared bikie who police believe was one of the most influential organised crime figures in Victoria was booted from Australia.

New Zealander Ray Elise, the Victorian President of the Rebels OMCG, had his visa cancelled by Mr Dutton.

The bikie was targeted due to his criminal offending from a young age, a failure to seize rehabilitation opportunities, disregard for Australian laws and having “an extensive network of criminal associates”.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Scott Morrison has opened the door to Christchurch mosque killer Brenton Tarrant being deported to Australia.

Mr Morrison said no official request had been made by New Zealand for Australia to take Tarrant back, but the Australian government is open to such a proposal.
