New footage has been released after a teenager was dragged from a car in Sydney’s west and shot, leaving him fighting for life.
The 19-year-old man was shot in the chest and the leg while sitting in a car on Anderson Lane in Sefton on October 2.
In CCTV released by NSW Police overnight, a white Audi with a sunroof is seen pulling into the laneway before three scramble out of the car.
Police say the victim was in the driver’s seat of another car, sitting next to a 21-year-old passenger, when the group of men smashed a window and dragged him onto the pavement.
The teenager was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital for emergency surgery.
The older man suffered a minor eye injury but did not require treatment.
Last month, Bankstown Police commander Detective Superintendent Murray Reynolds described the attack as “brutal” but said there were “no links to organised crime.”
“It’s very early in the investigation but certainly we believe it was a targeted attack and that the two groups had arranged to meet,” he said. “I am unaware of what they arranged to meet for but that’s part of the ongoing investigation.”
Anyone who may have seen the Audi or has dashcam footage from Sefton between 1pm on October 2 until 1am on October 3 is urged to speak to police.
