Sydney knife crime: Blacktown, St Clair stabbings, Warwick Farm robbery

Men have been left hospitalised and others have been arrested after a spate of knife-related crimes across Sydney’s west and southwest.

A spate of knife crime has been unleashed across Sydney’s west and southwest with one man assaulted, two hospitalised and a teenager arrested over an alleged armed robbery spree.

Police have also renewed appeals for information about a month-long investigation into a stabbing and a 14-year-old has been charged after allegedly stabbing a classmate.

TEEN CHARGED OVER ARMED ROBBERIES

The first overnight incident occurred when two men in a Honda CRV at a service station in Blacktown.

The pair allegedly threatened a shop attendant with a knife on Flushcombe Rd before leaving empty-handed.

Half an hour later, Fairfield City police responded to an armed robbery at Cabramatta where they were told a man wearing a surgical mask stole cash at knifepoint before leaving in a Honda CRV.

Officers were then called to two more service stations in Doonside after similar reports before finding the Honda CRV on fire at Greystanes.

A 16-year-old boy was later arrested at Concord Hospital where he was being treated for burns.

He was charged with attempted robbery armed with an offensive weapon, being carried in a conveyance taken without consent, robbery armed with an offensive weapon, and destroy or damage property in company use fire.

The boy was refused bail and will appear at a bedside hearing today.

ST CLAIR SCHOOL PICK UP STABBING

A man was stabbed on Monday afternoon when two fathers began arguing while waiting for their children to finish school in Western Sydney.

Police said the men, aged 35 and 41, were waiting at a St Clair shopping centre carpark around 2.50pm before an argument broke out.

The argument quickly escalated to a physical fight where the 41-year-old allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the younger man in the back and arms.

He was treated at the scene for three stab wounds and taken to Nepean Hospital. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

The older man took himself to Blacktown Hospital for injuries to his face. He was arrested at the hospital before being taken to Penrith Police Station where he was charged with malicious wounding causing grievous bodily harm and affray.

His bail was refused and is expected to appear at Blacktown Local Court today.

WARWICK FARM ARMED ROBBERY

Hours later, an 18-year-old man was ambushed while buying fuel at a service station in Warwick Farm.

The teen was approached at the station around 7pm on the Hume Highway by a man armed with a knife. He demanded keys to the teen’s 2016 White Mercedes AMG before getting into the car.

As the teen attempted to open the door a motorcyclist approached the car and punched him in the head before following the car away from the station.

Both men were wearing full-face helmets during the robbery.

A crime scene has been established and police are searching for a white Mercedes AMG with NSW registration DMR-95N.

EMERTON 7 ELEVEN STABBING

Police then established a crime scene at a 7 Eleven service station in Emerton early on Tuesday after a man was stabbed.

Police found the injured man with a single stab wound to his stomach on Popondette Rd around 3.25am.

He was taken to Nepean Hospital in a stable condition for further treatment and a crime scene was established at the service station.

CARNES HILL STABBING

Police are looking for a man of Mediterranean or Middle Eastern appearance after two men were stabbed during a fight at a Carnes Hill shopping centre last months.

In a renewed appeal to the public, police have released CCTV footage of a man who they believe can help with the investigation in Sydney’s southwest.

An argument between one man and a group of three men started around 6.30pm on Saturday October 10.

It developed into a fight which left an 18-year-old man with two stab wounds to his torso and a 20-year-old stabbed in the stomach.

The pair was taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment and have since been released.

The man police want to speak to is around 175cm tall with black hair and a black beard.

He was seen wearing a red cap, a yellow basketball singlet and grey shorts.

PARRAMATTA SCHOOL STABBING

A 14-year-old boy has spent the night behind bars after he allegedly stabbed another student at Arthur Phillip High School in Paramatta on Monday.

NSW Police said in a statement that the boy handed himself in at a police station about 8pm. He was arrested and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and is due to face a children‘s court today.

The injured boy, also 14, was taken to hospital as the school was placed into lockdown.

The victim was treated at the school by ambulance paramedics and then taken to The Children‘s Hospital at Westmead.

He suffered extensive stab wounds to his arm and back but is in a stable condition.
