Salim Mehajer denies split with wife Aysha after police called to sister-in-law’s house
Auburn’s deputy mayor is still denying he has broken up with wife Aysha despite his involvement in an angry incident at his sister-in-law’s house in Lidcombe, where she was staying.

IT really does seem to be all over bar the shouting for Salim Mehajer and his bride Aysha.
Police were called to Aysha’s sister’s house in Horsley, near Wollongong, at the weekend after Auburn’s deposed deputy mayor was allegedly “yelling, screaming and knocking at the door”.
The former beautician, once called April Learmonth, was staying in the house with her sister while Mr Mehajer allegedly demanded the keys to a Mercedes, one of his fleet of luxury vehicles, which Aysha had been using.
As Mr Mehajer was insisting yesterday he and Aysha were not separated, Aysha was said to have left for the Gold Coast while police seek to interview her and her husband as they consider seeking an apprehended domestic violence order against Mr Mehajer.
Lake Illawarra police launched an investigation after the flashy property developer arrived at the Learmonth residence on Sunday.
He was given the keys to his Mercedes but had to leave another car behind to drive it home.
The second car was towed away by a local towing company and Mr Mehajer arranged for it to be transferred back to Sydney on Monday.
Aysha is believed to have moved out of the Lidcombe home the couple shared in March, eight months after their multimillion-dollar wedding, and did not turn up at the party he threw for her 30th birthday earlier this month.
She could not be contacted yesterday but Mr Mehajer was adamant they were still together.
“Aysha and I are not separated, we are living happily, just away from our Lidcombe residence — somewhere in Sydney. Kind regards, Salim Mehajer,” he said.
Asked why the police were investigating him over an alleged domestic violence incident at her sister’s house, Mr Mehajer said: “Once I find out I will inform you.”
A police spokesman confirmed an investigation was under way.
