SALIM Mehajer’s attempts to become a “superstar” have received a boost with the sacked Auburn deputy mayor playing host to controversial rapper Tyga at his Western Sydney mansion.
Mehajer threw a lavish birthday party for wife Aysha on Monday night and handed over wads of cash to secure the services of the rapper, who is currently dating Kim Kardashian’s sister Kylie Jenner.
Music producer DJ Willi, who brought Tyga to Australia for a concert tour that included Luna Park on Saturday night, posted a series of SnapChat videos from Mehajer’s house.
The videos show the enourmous room in the house where formal tables had been set up for the birthday bash and features Mehajer reversing a selection of his cars - a Ferrari and Rolls Royce - from the garage.
The camera pans past a huge platter with the Tyga’s name spelt out in fruit.
DJ Willi is in awe as he steps into the garage that appears to be bigger than many Sydney houses.
“Check this sh-t out, man and this is just the f--king garage,” he can be heard saying before taking a walk down the hallway with money glassed into the hallway floor.
Tyga is shot sitting down at the huge white grand piano in Mehajer’s home, but the 26-year-old should probably stick to rapping if that performance was anything to go by.
The Aussie DJ told The Daily Telegraph he was contacted by the beleaguered developer asking for the rapper to attend a private event. For the right money, anything is possible.
“Being a music producer and tour promoter (and) having worked with Tyga several times in the past my company has the ability to book basically any international celebrity in the hip hop, RnB world if you can afford it,” he said.
“After securing funds from Salim we saw he was legitimate so I flew back from the United States and put the recording of my album on hold and I put an offer forward to Tyga’s management which was then accepted.”
DJ Willi said Tyga attended the event with fellow rapper Omarion and the pair were impressed with Mehajer’s grand Lidcombe residence, including a glass floor with a ton of money on display inside.
They were also quite partial to some of the female guests.
“Omarion got wind of the private mansion party which had a buffet dinner, free drinks, a lot of sexy ladies, and myself on the DJ decks and also rolled through,” he said.
“Both artists were very impressed with the house — Tyga even said that he wanted to put money in his floor after seeing Salim’s hallway.”
Mehajer posted a picture of himself with the two stars on his Facebook page with a birthday message for his wife, who wasn’t included in the photo.
“Happy birthday to my beautiful wife, Aysha. Just the beginning to an eventful week. Love you dearly, forever and ever. -Ft Tyga & Omarion,” he posted with the picture.
It was strangely the second birthday message Mehajer has made in as many months, with a Facebook message in March also wishing his wife a happy birthday.
“Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife, Aysha! I feel blessed to have such a loving and caring person in my life. May God protect your doll face ... Love you dearly; always and forever!” he wrote on March 21.
“Now, Let the celebrations begin. * catch us if you can *”
Mehajer, who first made headlines for his over-the-top wedding last year that blocked streets in Western Sydney and included millions of dollars worth of luxury cars and a helicopter, was suspended along with the rest of Auburn Council after serious concerns over councillors misusing their positions.
He told Sydney KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O after the event that he wanted to be famous.
“I want to be the next superstar,” he told the pair.
“You’ve got to hook me up with Hollywood, Kyle.”
Tyga and Omarion aren’t the first rappers to have visited Mehajer’s house with Lil Bow Wow filming the video clip for his song Too Real in the developer’s mansion last year.
The video featured the grand marble staircase in the home, complete with curvy women, with Mehajer’s white Ferrari also making an appearance.
