AUSTRALIA’S most famous publicist Roxy Jacenko won’t be holding a celebration for disgraced investment banker husband Oliver Curtis when the couple reunite this weekend following his jail release.
Sweaty Betty PR boss Jacenko has a private jet booked in her name to fly today to Cooma — home of the low-security prison where Curtis has served his sentence for insider trading — to collect her husband, ahead of a planned low-key private weekend with their insta-famous kids Pixie, five, and Hunter, three.
“There will not be any party,” a friend told The Daily Telegraph.
“It has been a really tough year for everyone and to be honest they don’t feel like there’s anything to celebrate. The kids wanted to do something but for Roxy it is important they have family time and regroup.”
Jacenko, 37, wasn’t wearing her diamond wedding ring when photographed out and about in Sydney yesterday running errands and taking out the garbage at her Paddington offices.
But she has previously promised to be at the prison gates to meet Curtis when he is released on parole after serving one year of a two-year sentence.
Jacenko visited her husband regularly throughout his time in jail.
Yesterday after being snapped at her offices she took to Instagram to display her ultra-fit frame.
Later, she picked up coffee in Double Bay and had lunch in Rose Bay before doing the grocery shopping with her kids.
“He reads, she pushes, I pay,” she posted with a pic of daughter Pixie pushing son Hunter in a supermarket trolley.
Curtis, 31, was yesterday transferred from Cooma Correctional Centre, known to inmates as “the farm”, back inside the granite walls of the main jail facility.
The outside temperature was due to plunge to below zero during his final hours in the jail, an hour’s drive from the Perisher ski fields.
Curtis will tend to the final paperwork this morning before walking out a free man, to face a media pack already camped outside the prison yesterday.
In April, Jacenko said: “Yes. Absolutely (we will be at the gates). The kids are looking forward to having their father back.”
Two weeks later she was spotted with a group of friends, and kissing ex-boyfriend Nabil Gazal on the balcony of his eastern suburbs apartment. She has refused to comment on her friendship with Gazal, but it has been said the real estate millionaire has long been “smitten” with Jacenko, from whom he split in 2010.
