There’s something in the water at 7News. Five reporters have all welcomed new additions within a few months of each other, sparking an impromptu mother’s group.
Reporter Angie Asimus said it was amazing to share the experience with her co-workers.
“We could all sort of share stories … We could all like to have a bit of a community together and share how are we going … we’re all in it together.
“The awesome thing is we all got to share clothes, because we all had pregnancies at different times,” she said.
Fellow reporter Amber Laidler said it was great to compare notes with one another.
“We weren‘t all pregnant at the same time. It was a bit staggered, but it was really nice. We sort of all had a crossover with at least one of the other women in the newsroom … it’s so great having so many women around you that are so supportive and willing to lend an ear or offer some advice when you need it.”
Asked how the Seven team was managing the burst of maternity leave, a laughing Ms Asimus said, “I think my boss was secretly tearing his hair out thinking how am I going to fill all these gaps?
“They have all been so supportive though.”
