A man is in hospital after being pulled unconscious from the surf and resuscitated at a popular beach in Sydney’s north today.

A man has been rushed to hospital after being pulled unconscious from the surf at a popular beach in Sydney’s north.
Authorities said off-duty lifesavers dragged the unconscious man, aged in his 20s, back to the shoreline when he got intro trouble at North Palm Beach about 3.30pm on Sunday.
He had been swimming with a group of friends.
The lifesavers performed CPR on him before he regained consciousness.
Dramatic video footage taken at the scene showed a big group of shocked onlookers on the beach as paramedics arrived to help him.
Paramedics took the man to Northern Beaches Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
A spokesman for medical service CareFlight said the man was put into an induced coma before he was taken to hospital.
“Off duty lifeguards and bystanders were providing CPR for the unconscious man as CareFlight’s medical crew arrived to provide treatment,” the spokesman said.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics joined soon after and worked alongside CareFlight’s medical team to treat the patient.
“CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic intubated the man, placing him in an induced coma to stabilise his condition.
“The patient was taken by road with NSW Ambulance to Northern Beaches Hospital receiving ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s medical team.”
