A Wollongbar man will front court after he allegedly sexually touched a teen girl after giving her a lift.

Police will allege the 53-year-old was driving his car in Goonellabah when he offered a 15-year-old girl a lift, which she accepted, on Saturday, August 20, at about 5pm.

Police have been told the man drove to a nearby skate park and allegedly sexually touched her.

They will allege he then picked up the girl on Sunday and sexually touched her while driving around Lismore.

The teen returned home and reported the matter to Richmond Police District officers who began an investigation with the assistance of Ballina Child Abuse Squad.

Officers arrested the man at a Wollongbar address on Tuesday at about 7pm.

He stands charged with intentionally sexually touching a child between 10 and 16 years, and two counts of being a person unrelated to licenced premises supplying liquor to minor.

He was refused bail to appear before Lismore Local Court on Wednesday, September 7.
