The tragic truth about road deaths in Australia

An 18-year-old Lillian Rock man has died after a crash on a rural road northwest of Nimbin.

Emergency services were called to Blue Knob Road, near the intersection of Blade Road, just before 2pm on Wednesday after receiving reports of a crash involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Daihatsu.

The teenager died at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle – a 41-year-old Barkers Vale man - was uninjured and was taken to Nimbin Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Richmond Police District established a crime scene and are investigating the crash.

It comes after a man aged in his 60s was killed after his bike and a Ford ute collided on Kyogle Road at Cawongla on Friday.

A police spokeswoman said the circumstances of that crash were also still being investigated.
