Man dies after motorcycle and car collide in Kyogle Road, Cawongla

A man believed to be aged in his 60s has lost his life after a tragic crash near Kyogle.

A motorcyclist has died following a crash near Kyogle on Friday.

Just after 12.30pm, emergency services were called to Kyogle Road in Cawongla, about 37km northwest of Lismore, after reports a motorcycle and a Ford utility had collided.

The rider, a man believed to be aged in his 60s, died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

The driver of the utility – a 32-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to Lismore Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

Officers from Richmond Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
