A second 18-year-old man has been charged after a boy died at Casino in late June from stab wounds.

Emergency services were called to a home on McDougall Street, Casino, after reports of a stabbing about 1.20am on June 25.

Officers from Richmond Police District attended and found a 17-year-old with stab wounds to his neck. He died at the scene.

The 17-year-old’s parents were home at the time of the stabbing and helped police during their investigation.

The day following the incident, detectives went to another Casino home and arrested 18-year-old Rayne Aylward before charging him with murder.

Aylward was refused bail and faced Lismore Local Court the following week.

The court heard a brief was still not ready, and magistrate Jeff Linden adjourned the matter to September 28.

At this appearance, Aylward was refused bail and remains remanded in custody. The matter was adjourned to October 26.

Another 18-year-old man attended Lismore Police Station on Wednesday where he was arrested by strike force detectives.

He was charged with conceal serious indictable offence and granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court on November 28.

Local detectives formed Strike Force Linford to investigate the circumstances surrounding the 17-year-old’s death and its investigations continue.
