A Nimbin P-plater who was driving a lifted ute was pulled over for excessively high suspension - then failed a roadside drug test.

Sean Tyler Blazely, 33, of Nimbin, pleaded guilty in Ballina Local Court on October 13 to having methylamphetamine and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his blood at the time of being arrested.

Police facts state that at 1.10pm on February 12 2022, a black Nissan utility bearing Qld plates was stopped on River Street, Ballina, due to illegal lifted suspension.

Blazely was breath and drug tested and arrested after a positive drug test.

He was taken to Ballina Police Station for secondary oral fluid test which was positive for methylamphetamine.

Further analysis from the NSW Forensic and Analytical Science Service returned a positive result to methylamphetamine and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.

“I didn’t have it, no comment,” Blazely told police at the time, according to court documents.

Blazely pleaded guilty to drive motor vehicle with illicit drug present in blood – prior offence.

The matter has been adjourned to November 17.
