Police have released CCTV footage and launched a manhunt for an armed robber who held up a service station worker at gunpoint in the north of the state.
It’s been revealed by NSW Police that a male armed with a firearm went into the shop on Rouse St at Tenterfield, demanding cash.
The robber was given an undisclosed sum of money during the holdup about 5.15am on Monday and fled the store on foot.
Fortunately, the worker was not injured during the frightening incident.
New England Police District officers were called and launched an investigation into the circumstances of the robbery.
Detectives have released CCTV video of a person that believe may be able to “assist with their inquiries”, a police statement read.
The male has been described by police as 175cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket and white shoes.
He can be seen dashing through the forecourt of the shop alongside the fuel bowsers in the supplied video, and appears to be wearing the jacket’s hood over his head.
Investigations were ongoing on Thursday morning.
Police have urged anyone with information – or dashcam/CCTV footage from the area – to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or Tenterfield Police Station.
