A North Coast real estate agent has limped away from court after being hit with a fine after a domestic violence assault on a woman at Lismore.

Aaron Ashley, 27, of Girards Hill, fronted Lismore Local Court in a moon boot having pleaded guilty to common assault and two counts of breaching an apprehended domestic violence order.

The real estate agent who earns about $1800 a week, assaulted the woman at Lismore Heights on the evening of December 12, 2022 and was arrested shortly afterwards, according to court documents.

“This is serious offending of a domestic nature that happened in the victim’s home,” his solicitor Maddison Green told the court.

Ashley, who is currently living on Dawson St, also knowingly breached an apprehended domestic violence order against the victim in March after he “consumed alcohol”, the court heard.

Despite the severity of the offending, Ms Green said Ashley is “otherwise of good character” and had good prospects of rehabilitation – appearing in court supported by mother, employer and friend.

Magistrate Michael Dakin fined Ashley $1000 for his offending and sentenced him to a 12-month community release order.
