A Goonellabah man charged with a string of domestic violence-related child sex offences against two boys, one as young as 13, has faced court.

The 65-year-old man – who cannot legally be named to protect the alleged victims’ identities – appeared before Lismore District Court on Monday for arraignment.

He faces three counts of indecent assault against a person under 16 years of age and four counts of intentionally sexually touching a child aged between 10 and 16 years.

It’s alleged the offending occurred against two children in Goonellabah between 2016-2022.

The man was arrested and charged on April 11, 2022 – and granted bail on the same day.

The case was adjourned to March 31 for a fitness inquiry to be held to determine if the defendant is cognitively sound to stand trial.

The accused man‘s bail was continued.

He has not entered pleas of either guilty or not guilty.
