Daniel Connors: Man facing Lismore, Casino police pursuit charges faces court
Police will allege the 21-year-old Lismore man carjacked a couple and then rammed a police car during a pursuit.

One half of a duo accused of an armed robbery at a Lismore boat ramp is negotiating a plea.
Daniel Connors, 21, was mentioned in Lismore Local Court on Wednesday but wasn’t required to appear via videolink or in person.
Police will allege Mr Connors is one of two men who threatened a couple in their 40s with knives at the Ballina St boat ramp, demanding keys to their 2021 Subaru XV about 6.45pm on July 8 last year.
A short scuffle allegedly ensued between the 48-year-old man and the two men before he handed over the keys and the pair fled the scene in the Subaru.
The white hatchback, driven by another man, also fled the scene.
Police conducting Tabulam patrols later sighted a stolen Kia Cerato about 1.30pm on July 9.
Police will further allege officers attempted to stop the vehicle on the Bruxner Hwy after the Kia allegedly tried to ram their police car.
But the stolen vehicle allegedly did not stop when directed and police initiated a pursuit.
The vehicle continued east along the Bruxner Hwy, before road spikes were successfully deployed just outside of Casino.
The car stopped at a roundabout on Centre St, Casino and Mr Connors and his co-accused allegedly jumped out.
Mr Connors was later arrested and charged with two counts of driving dangerously in a police pursuit, armed robbery, take and drive conveyance without consent of its owner, possessing a prohibited drug, two counts of being carried in a conveyance without consent of its owner, being never licensed and driving, and driving during a disqualification period.
Mr Connors is yet to enter any formal pleas.
Defence lawyer Paul Cranney said an offer would be “forthcoming” as he asked for an adjournment to February.
A case conference had already been held, the court was told.
Magistrate Michael Dakin adjourned the case for charge certification mention on February 16 in Lismore Local Court.
