Alexander Repin faces slew of charges after allegedly attacking elderly Lismore man, 89, leaving him critically injured

A middle-aged man who allegedly left an 89-year-old bleeding profusely and suffering from critical skull fractures has now faced court. Here’s what happened.

A middle-aged man has faced court accused of leaving an 89-year-old man critically injured following a vicious attack in the state’s north.

Alexander Repin, 46, faced Lismore Local Court on Sunday.

The Lismore man was refused bail to face the court again on Tuesday.

Richmond Police District alleges officers were called to a home on Keen St, Girards Hill and found the elderly man with critical head injuries about 12.45pm on Saturday.

The man was found with an injury to his right eye and bleeding profusely from his face, including his mouth.

“The 89-year-old was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, who then drove him to Lismore Base Hospital for treatment of multiple fractures,” a NSW Police statement read.

Repin was arrested nearby and taken to Lismore Police Station.

He has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, recklessly causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and being armed with intent to commit an indictable offence.
