While new figures released by the Audit Bureau of Circulation for newspaper sales show an international trend downward of more than 0.7 per cent, The Northern Starhas bucked this trend with growth of 1 per cent for the same period last year.

This is a testament to the hard work and commitment of all who work on this newspaper, from editorial and marketing to sales and production. Across the board you wouldn’t find a more dedicated lot. It also talks to the fact we are keeping our readers engaged six days a week.

As a regional daily newspaper we take pride in delivering in-depth local news at a level readers can’t get anywhere else. And we deliver in print and online as well.

We also engage in our local community by supporting issues that are relevant to this region. The Northern Staris an active member of the Northern Rivers community.

We sponsor more than 200 events every year, not only through editorial coverage and financial support, but by being present and participating on many levels. We also work hard at a grass roots level supporting issues important to this region, such as health and the homeless, through regular campaigns.

Our staff work and live in the region and are involved in many aspects of this community’s daily life.

Whatever occurs on the Northern Rivers affects this newspaper as much as it affects everyone else. If you want to keep up to date with what is going on in your region, then The Northern Staris a must read.
