LISMORE City Council may have voted (again) to fluoridate the water supply, but it is unlikely we will be drinking it before mid-2015.
Rous Water's technical services director Wayne Franklin said although they called for tenders to build the fluoride dosing plants three years ago, they will have to begin the process again.
"Since then there have been improvements in the dosing technology and we want to take advantage of that," Mr Franklin said.
He said Rous Water was likely to be calling for tenders in March/April next year, selecting a successful tender by the middle of the year. Construction could begin in early 2015 and it could be operating by mid-2015.
The health Department has extended the deadline to begin fluoridation to the end of 2015.
