Lismore rates to jump for households, businesses

LISMORE City Council has been approved a rate increase to businesses of 3.82% which is 0.42% above the rate peg.

LISMORE City Council has been approved a rate increase to businesses of 3.82% which is 0.42% above the rate peg.

The increase will replace an existing special rate variation and will used to fund the Lismore Business Promotion Panel.

Household rates will not be affected and average rates across all categories will broadly increase by the 3.4% rate peg increase that is available to all councils.

IPART estimated it will mean an average $247 increase for businesses in the CBD, $127 for businesses in urban areas and $35 for households.
