LISMORE City Council's first Tip Free Day of the year was well attended, with traffic congestion all the way back to Wyrallah Rd.
Hundreds of trailers, wagons and utes were lined up at the entrance, crammed with green waste, hard rubbish, recyclables, and landfill.
Council was well prepared for the influx, with traffic controllers manning the entrance to wave passing cars through and warn about the extended wait times.
The next Tip Free day is on Sunday, May 18.
