CLUB Lennox has reopened for business and the Lennox Head community couldn't be happier.

The Lennox Head Community Sports and Recreation Club Limited, now trading as Club Lennox, stopped trading in November 2012 after its parent club, Ramsgate RSL Memorial Club, decided to close the venue.

Over the past year the club underwent the process of de-amalgamation, rising from the ashes after the community raised about $200,000 to save their local bowlo.

Club Lennox general manager Geoff Martin said it was an exciting time.

"It's exciting for the community and it's been exciting for me to be able to set up a club from scratch - not many people get to do that," he said.

"All the locals are really happy to have the facility back, too."

For the past year the greens at the club have been maintained but the

bulk of the Lennox bowlers had been playing their tournaments at the Cherry Street Bowling Club in Ballina.

President of the Men's Bowling Club at Lennox Head Colin Skennar said the response from the bowling and wider community toward the reopening of the club had been overwhelming.

"The whole community is just so happy to see the club back," Mr Skennar said.

"It just goes to show what a community can achieve when they work together."

Mr Skennar also expressed his gratitude to the Cherry Street Bowling Club for allowing Lennox Head bowlers to use their green.

Club Lennox is open seven days a week from 11am. The venue is fully licensed and has both bistro and resturant facilities.

There is also a playground for the kids.

Club Lennox is holding a New Year's Eve bash, with local band Push playing between 9.30pm and 12.30pm.

Bowling will begin in the new year.
