Holden fanatics are revved up to get their hands on rare cars and collectibles as one of Australia’s oldest Holden dealerships hosts a once-in-a-lifetime auction.
Tenterfield’s Sexton and Green has laid claim to fame for more than 100 years as the second oldest Holden dealership in Australia.
The recent closure of the 148 Rouse St premises shocked the small Northern NSW community.
The storied car dealership was founded in September 1919 as a partnership between Sydney engineer Charlie Sexton and Casino builder Fred Green.
Over the years, the business has been an influential part of Tenterfield community events and the wider Holden fanbase.
And to celebrate its history, owners have launched an exclusive sale featuring memorabilia, classic and collectable cars and spare parts.
Some of the highlights include iconic Holden models such as a 1951 Holden FX Sedan, a fully restored 1953 Holden FX Sedan, original condition 1964 EH Holden Sedan and 1967 Holden HR Ute.
Memorabilia such as a circa 1950 illuminating Holden sign and original GM Holden signs will also go under the hammer.
Bidding has already started so get in quick as the auction closes August 18.
It comes as General Motors announced in February 2020 that Holden was pulling out of Australia altogether.
