LISMORE City Council is taking to social media to keep track of council infrastructure issues.

LISMORE City Council is taking to social media to keep track of council infrastructure issues.

Using the smartphone application Snap Send Solve, ratepayers can send photos and the GPS coordinates of problems to council.

Deputy Mayor Isaac Smith said councillors encouraged ratepayers to download the application and use it to report issues with council infrastructure.

"Anyone with a smartphone can use that application to take a picture and what it does is records the GPS location of that issue and emails it to the relevant council," he said.

"The Snap Send Solve application sends an email directly to our customer service centre and they then delegate it to the person who can best fix that issue."
