A renewed development application to subdivide and build six units on a prominent Goonellabah site is back on the table.
The $2.8 million proposal lodged before Lismore City Council includes plans for six two storey dwellings to form part of a multi dwelling housing development on Ballina Rd, opposite the Goonellabah Public School.
The site currently houses Rosh-Tech IT Services and landowner Michael Keogh could be in for a big change if council approve the development.
Each of the dwellings will be two storeys in height and contain two bedrooms, with the exception of unit six which will have three bedrooms.
Ground floors will contain living, dining and kitchen areas.
Each unit will also have a retreat (bar units four and five), a bathroom and ensuite.
The unit configuration proposes the first two units will be detached at the rear of the site.
Units three to five will be clustered together along the eastern border of the property.
Unit six is proposed to be a freestanding dwelling, located next to the driveway entrance facing Ballina Road.
Newton Denny Chapelle said the application proposes demolishing a number of structures from the site to facilitate the development including the existing building, signage, fencing and concrete.
Current palm trees and a Poinciana tree, as well as all other landscaping must also be cleared from the site.
Issues surrounding the proximity to heritage listed Rochdale House, which sits opposite the current site and next to the Goonellabah Public School, are still under question.
Owner Michael Keogh, of Brisbane, was contacted for comment.
