Lisa Mottram misses court date because she’s in hospital

THE estranged wife of former Parramatta Leagues Club boss Denis Fitzgerald who allegedly drunkenly ran down a family — including a four-year-old girl — was unable to attend court this morning because she is “currently in hospital”.

Hairdresser Lisa Irene Mottram, 50, is accused of having a blood-alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and was allegedly texting when she hit the family-of-four in Kellyville in Sydney’s northwest last month.

On Wednesday morning at Parramatta Local Court it was revealed the Melrose Park woman was in hospital when her matter was briefly heard for the first time since the alleged crash.

The matter was adjourned to December and her bail conditions have been suspended while she is in hospital.

Mottram, who had been separated from Mr Fitzgerald for more than 18 months, had been to dinner earlier in the night with a girlfriend at Rouse Hill’s The Fiddler Hotel.

The Daily Telegraph understands police will allege she was driven home by a friend but before 9.20am she left her apartment to drive to buy cigarettes nearby.

A family from Hong Kong were standing on the side of Hezlett Rd when they were allegedly hit by her white SUV.

The four-year-old girl was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The girl’s aunt and parents were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

Mottram was initially taken to hospital before being taken to Castle Hill police station where she allegedly returned a breath analysis of 0.113.

At 10.03pm that night she was charged with three counts of dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm mid-range drink driving, using a mobile phone while not permitted, misconduct causing bodily harm and negligent driving.
