ONE of the state’s most evil killers has attempted to have a judicial inquiry into his conviction, claiming he has fresh evidence that will prove his innocence.
Sef Gonzales stabbed and bludgeoned his sister Clodine and parents Terry and Mary Loiva in their family home in Ryde on July 10, 2001.
He then attempted to make the murders appear to be a hate crime by writing “F … off Asians KKK” on a wall.
The then 21-year-old broke down at a press conference as he pleaded with the public to help catch the killers. He was arrested in June the next year and later convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
In his application to the NSW Supreme Court, Gonzales had submissions from experts claiming the three victims would have fought off their attacker and most likely inflicted wounds on the killer.

Gonzales also presented evidence that he suffered from a skin condition which would increase the likelihood of a physical impact leaving a mark on him.
Photographs show him unmarked on the night of the murders.
Justice Christine Adamson dismissed Gonzales’ application, saying: “The further material, the evidence at trial and the applicant’s submissions have not produced any doubt or question about his guilt for the murders of his parents and his sister.”
