HSC results 2018: Best students in NSW revealed

Nervous students have woken this morning to see the results of their hard work and study for the HSC exams.
This year 11 per cent of the state’s students achieved in the top band for their assessment in their subjects and 41 per cent achieved in the top three of six possible categories for their More students than ever before chose to study science and maths courses in this year’s HSC.
The number of students studying the STEM subjects has been a growing trend over the past decade.
This year 83 per cent of students studied maths.
There has been a 17 per cent growth in students choosing to study a science course over the past 10 years.
The number of students identifying as aboriginal has also doubled.
NESA Chief Executive David De Carvalho said there had also been a 15 per cent increase in the number of students undertaking vocational education courses within the HSC over that time period.

He said the performance of this year’s candidature were consistent in years past.
He said for those students who were concerned about their marks could call the NESA HSC inquiry line for queries about their results.
