A young member of an infamous Sydney family has suffered gunshot wounds after narrowly avoiding a second attempt on his life in three months.

Khoder Hamdan, 18, was with friends on Friday night when a gunman opened fire on his parked black Toyota HiLux ute in Sydney’s west.

The shots were fired about 7.15pm on Blackfriar Place at Wetherill Park, in the city‘s west.

Some 35 minutes later the teenage Hamdan presented to hospital with gunshot wounds, where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Hamdan was the target of another attempt on his life in Auburn on May 30, with a gunman again opening fire as he got into the same black ute.

On that day the bullets narrowly missed, with the gunmen fleeing the scene and burning white Skoda getaway car found in flames a few suburbs away soon after.

CCTV footage showed someone then attempting to drive the bullet-riddled ute out after the Skoda, but it stopped a short distance from the driveway with a flat tyre which had been pierced by a bullet.

After Friday‘s shooting, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Salim and Toufik Hamze, left and his son Salim Hamze, right were shot dead as they sat in a ute outside their Guildford home.

Police were told Hamdan was standing by a ute with three other males, when a black SUV drove past them and allegedly fired multiple shots at them.

The utility has been seized by police for forensic examination.

The three other males were not injured.

Hamdan was a close friend of slain teenager Salim Hamze, who was gunned down with his father, Toufik, 64, outside their family home at Guildford in October, 2021.

A 20-year-old man has been charged over the alleged double murder.
