Police are appealing for information after a shot was fired into a home in Sydney’s west on Sunday.
Officers responded to reports of a shot being fired from a parked car on Stanley St in Fairfield Heights at 4:30pm.
Police say a 20-year-old man approached a parked car when a firearm was produced and fired, the single bullet passed through the front door and into an internal wall of a nearby home.
The uninjured man ran from the scene and an individual exited the vehicle allegedly running after him.
A short time later the vehicle drove from the scene and detectives are investigating whether a stolen car which was found on fire at Chowne Place in Yennora a short time later is linked.
Initial inquiries have led police to believe the incident was targeted.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze and the vehicle was towed for further examination.
Crime scenes were established at both locations and inquiries are underway by detectives.
Police have spoken with the 20-year-old male who is not assisting officers.
Detectives have also spoken with a number of people at the scene and have conducted a canvass of the neighbourhood.
