Yamba Community Pool: Man, aged in 20s, drowns

A young man has died after drowning at a pool in northern NSW - despite desperate attempts to revive him.
Emergency services were called to Yamba Community Pool about 12.50pm after a report an unconscious man had been pulled from a swimming pool.
Police officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District attended and began CPR before the arrival of NSW paramedics.
The man was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
The man, who is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be aged in his 20s.
It is believed he had been freediving, and found unconscious by pool staff.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District have established a crime scene and begun inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
