REAL estate agent Tony Campbell from McKimm's Real Estate, Grafton anticipates keen bidding for the first auction of the year, and is optimistic for a good result.
The auction will feature a 5.6ha (14-acre) hobby farm (pictured right) with 150m of riverfront at Seelands.
Since its release to the market a few weeks before Christmas, Mr Campbell said Burrendah had already received a fair amount of interest, mostly from within the Clarence Valley.
"There are a limited number of properties available that have river frontage," Mr Campbell said.
"It's not very often they come up and I think most people appreciate how hard it is to get it."
He said while the timber house would benefit from renovation, the north-easterly aspect was a major asset.
"It's a large home with a nice outlook and virtually every room opens onto the veranda," he said.
"We think it's quite unique."
Mr Campbell said while it was always hard to predict an auction, he was expecting some strong competition on the night.
"I'm optimistic it will go under the hammer."
Along with extensive river frontage, Burrendah includes a four-bedroom home, dam, tennis courts, stables, farm sheds and guest accommodation.
About two-thirds of the property is flood free.
An open house is planned for Saturday from 11am, but if viewing at this time isn't possible, Mr Campbell can arrange a private inspection.
The auction will be held at the Duke Street Community Centre at 5.30pm on Friday, January 31.
