Grafton fatal crash: Pedestrian dies after being hit crossing street

An elderly pedestrian flown to hospital with serious head injuries after a collision with a car in Grafton on Saturday night has died.
Emergency services responded to reports a car had hit a pedestrian on Oliver Street, Grafton just before 8pm on Saturday.
The crash happened near the intersection with Mary Street.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 71-year-old man at the scene and then took him to Grafton Base Hospital.
He was flown to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition where he later died.
The driver of the vehicle – a 58-year-old woman – was uninjured and taken to Grafton Base Hospital for mandatory testing. She is helping police with inquiries.
