Two new cases of Covid-19 have been recorded within the Northern NSW Local Health District.

In the 24 hours to 8pm Friday, two cases were confirmed in the Clarence Valley local government area.

The Mid North Coast has meanwhile recorded 22 new cases in the same period.

Northern NSW Local Health District acting chief executive Lynne Weir said both of the Clarence Valley infections were linked to known cases.

“The North Coast Public Health Unit is investigating the latest cases and contact tracing is under way, including any potential exposure venues of public concern,” Ms Weir said.

The latest infections brings the health district’s total of cases to 113 since the beginning of the current Delta strain outbreak in NSW.

“COVID-19 exposure sites are listed on the NSW Government website,” Ms Weir said.

“We encourage you to regularly check the website as the list of venues of concern and relevant health advice is updated as new cases emerge and investigations continue.”

Ms Weir said Northern NSW residents had continued to present for testing in large numbers.

“For the seven days from 14 to 20 October, there were 8821 tests in NNSWLHD,” she said.

“Anyone with even the slightest symptoms should get tested as soon as they feel unwell.”

She urged those who have not yet received a Covid-19 vaccination to make a booking or attend a walk-in clinic.

Find available bookings at the Commonwealth Government’s Covid-19 Vaccine Clinic Finder or you can also call Health Direct on 1800 57 11 55 for assistance to book.
