Man injured in fall in Yuraygir National Park south of Brooms Head

A man has been flown to Lismore Base Hospital overnight after a falling from a cliff south of Brooms Head.

A man in his 20s has been flown to hospital after falling from a coastal cliff within a national park.

NSW Ambulance were called to a remote beach within Yuraygir National Park, south of Brooms Head, to attend to the man just after 2am on Saturday.

Local ambulance paramedics and other emergency services attended the location and began treatment of the man prior to the arrival of the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and its critical care medical team.

The 21-year-old had fallen from the cliff and landed on the beach suffering from serious leg injuries.

The rescue helicopter medical team was winched onto the scene due to limited access and assisted in treatment of the man.

Once stabilised the male was winched from the beach by stretcher.

He was flown direct to Lismore Base Hospital in a serious condition suffering serious leg injuries.
