A Clarence man who left a blood trail in his home after he was stabbed by his former girlfriend, is now facing his own set of alleged domestic violence offences.

Dylan Kolak, 21, of Iluka, was stabbed in the back by 19-year-old Torryh Shaw with a pair of kitchen scissors in the early hours of August 26 last year.

Last Monday Shaw was convicted of the offence and received a nine-month intensive corrections order.

But now Kolak — a victim of domestic violence offence who was protected from Shaw by an apprehended domestic violence order (ADVO) — faces the court himself.

It is alleged Kolak was also a perpetrator of domestic violence when he visited the Iluka home of Shaw’s grandmother on the evening of April 14.

On Thursday, at Maclean Local Court, Kolak pleaded guilty to two counts of intimidation and one count of damaging property.

He entered not guilty pleas to being armed with the intent to commit an indictable offence and driving furiously.

According to documents tendered to court, Kolak turned up at the home of Shaw’s grandmother, where his former girlfriend also lived.

Between 11 and 11.30 that night, Kolak intimidated both Shaw and her grandmother with the intention of causing them to fear for their safety.

Later that evening, Shaw also damaged a NSW police car some time between 11.55pm and 12.20am.

However the young man denies the allegations he drove recklessly along Denne and Spenser streets, Iluka.

He also pleaded not guilty to being armed with 1.8 metre steel jemmy bar and having the intention of causing an indictable offence with the weapon.

In court, Magistrate Christopher Longley put in place a two-year ADVO to protect both Shaw and her grandmother.

Kolak is due to return to court for both a hearing and sentencing on October 25.
