In a grim discovery police have found a body believed to be that of a fisherman who went missingat the weekend.
On Sunday, Coffs/Clarence police officers, with the assistance of Marine Area Command, launched a search after a man, aged in his twenties, was reported missing at Bare Point, near Diggers Camp.
The young man’s body was found in the water at North West Solitary Island, approximately 22kms south from Bare Point, on Sunday evening.
While the body is yet to be formally identified, police believe it is the missing fisherman.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
