Two children and a woman have been arrested after a dramatic incident at a school in Tamworth on Tuesday.
Police were called to the school on Butler St, Armidale, about 10.30am on Monday to reports two girls had allegedly assaulted school staff.
“Police arrived and were told two girls – aged 11 and 13 – had allegedly assaulted staff members after they attempted to assault another student,” a NSW Police statement read.
No students were injured, but four staff members were assessed for minor injuries with two going to Armidale Hospital for further treatment.
Both the 11-year-old and 13-year-old girls were arrested, with the older girl allegedly assaulting one of the officers.
Amid the chaos, a 34-year-old woman allegedly arrived at the school and verbally abused staff and police.
She was told to move on, but refused, and allegedly tried to resist arrest.
The woman was then taken to Armidale Police Station where she was charged with refusing or failing to comply with a direction, hindering or resisting police, and intimidating police.
She was refused police bail and faced Armidale Local Court on Tuesday.
