OPPOSITION Leader Tony Abbott dropped in on Australian troops in Afghanistan on Thursday for a brief speech largely endorsing the work of the Defence Forces in the region.
Mr Abbott told troops he understood there had been progress made in improving living conditions in Afghanistan.
After photo opportunities on the ground, Mr Abbott said he would take all his responsibilities seriously if elected Prime Minister.
